Talk about SPOILED ROTTEN! I came across this blog yesterday and had to share. The owners of the blog piece together modern day outfits inspired by Disney, Harry Potter movies and the like. Be sure to check them out!

A headpiece. The term originally referred to a fine, lacey head covering similar to a shawl and made from wool or lace, but mostly with feathers. Fascinators may be worn instead of a hat on occasions where hats were traditionally worn...such as weddings and worn with fairly formal attire. Brides may choose to wear them as an alternative to a bridal veil.

Fascinators are also referred to as cocktail hats or hatinators.

Fascinators have been around for centuries but have become increasingly popular with appearances on the 2008 season of Project Runway and the 2011 Royal Wedding. These days fascinators can be seen as a headband, hat, or hair clip.

Black is a great anchor for just about any color. I love it with purple for that regal feel. Add a touch of silver or white for a great color combination.

I wanted to present another cute and different Valentine's Day treat idea. So I tried my hand at making chocolate heart shaped lollipops to look like conversation hearts. It was quite an experience to say the least. Making the lollipops was the easiest part. Coming up with text or new generation lingo was the challenge. I know thousands exist but when I put the icing nozzle to the heart...I found myself with a case of writers block. Having a text savvy friend nearby helped. :-) Enjoy!

These were fun and easy to make.
Grab the kids and the items below and have a good time:
  • Bag of large marshmallows (Kraft works best. They are more firm and stay centered on the lollipop stick. Speaking of...)
  • Lollipop sticks (I used Wilton's)
  • Chocolate wafers (for candy making. I used Wilton's pink wafers. They come in other colors as well.)
  • Sprinkles!!!! (With V Day coming up, now's a good time to find a lot of different kinds. I used Wilton's Sweetheart Sprinkles Heart Mix and Sweetheart Nonpareils)
  • Microwaveable containers or a double boiler to melt chocolate.
  • Styrofoam or something to hold the pops as they dry.
Assemble marshmallows on a stick, dip in melted chocolate (melt chocolate according to package instructions but be sure not to burn the chocolate), tap off excess, roll in sprinkles or apply sparingly, allow to dry, and EAT THEM! <3 Place them in favor bags and tie with a bow and a note if giving these outside of the home. Enjoy!

Add a personal touch to Valentine's Day treats by personalizing them with cool graphics, the name of your valentine, and a sweet message. Decorative edge scissors can be used to make a scalloped or zig zag edge.
